Back on the 20th of May Colin and I popped along to Chestnut Tree House to present a cheque on your behalf for £5080.55.

This is a fantastic figure, but it’s really just a drop in the ocean for Chestnut Tree House, £5000 is barely enough to cover a days care.

If you haven’t made a donation yet it’s not too late, please pop along to the Just giving page & give what you can.

Colin is still working on his journal from the walk. I’ve been nagging him & hope to publish it soon.

Hello everyone.

Sorry for the radio silence over the last week or so. We’ve all been recovering from the success of Colin’s walk and counting your generous donations. There is still at least one bucket of cash to be counted, but I thought it was worth giving you the latest total of the money raised. At the moment it stands at £6138.80 which is absolutely fantastic.

On behalf of Colin, the team and of course our two wonderful charities I would like to express our heartfelt thanks to everyone who has donated. You are all amazing people, we are humbled and in awe. Considering that when we started on this crazy venture we thought we might raise a thousand pounds, to be looking at a total of over six thousand is quite something.

All of the money raised through the just giving page plus half of the cash raised en route will be going to Chestnut tree house, which means that they will receive at least £4500. Help for Heros wil get the other half of the cash raised which means that they’ll get at least £1500.

Of course, it’s not too late to donate! If you’re one of those people that’s been saying “I will give you some money” you can still visit the Just Giving page to donate on line, or get in touch if you’d rather give cash.

Colin is working on a journal of his journey & we’ll get that online just as soon as we can for you.

Battersea Street Party

On Friday afternoon after the Wedding of the Duke & Duchess of Cambridge, Colin & his better half Karyn were invited to attend a street party in Battersea. Here is a selection of photos that have been kindly sent in by Lindsay Wilson who paid £20 in an auction for a pair of socks!

Arriving at the Palace

On Thursday Vinnie, Pat & Chris met Colin south of the Thames and walked the last few miles with him in to Westminster & Buckingham Palace, rattling their buckets. They even charged tourists to have their photos taken with our Knight at the palace & raised a load of cash for our good causes.

Yesterday during the Royal Wedding coverage while the world waited for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge to appear on the balcony our knight was interviewed by Fearne Cotton of the BBC. Sadly Fearne wouldn’t let Colin plug the website, however that didn’t stop many people finding us and making donations to Chestnut Tree House.

Fearne’s refusal to allow Colin to mention the site caused a number of outraged tweets on twitter

Hey @BBCNews, tell Fearne she should've let that knight tell us the charity website. The miserable wench!

Hurrah! After 5 full days, 60 miles and countless blisters he's at Buckingham Palace

He’s made it!

Our noble, some would say certifiable knight Colin Bickers has arrived at the gates of Buckingham Palace having traveled 60 miles on foot in full armour.

Colin said It was further than I thought!

So far Colin has raised £1,917 online for Chestnut Tree House and several hundred more pounds en route which will be split between Chestnut Tree House & Help for Heroes.

All that remains for him to do is to come back tomorrow & cast his rose before the carriage carrying Prince William & his new princess back to Buckingham Palace.
